Thanks to funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery, Embrace East Sussex are delighted have launched their home school pack initiative.
Many children are currently not in school for a variety of reasons, including those who are having to shield due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It can be a huge undertaking for parents and carers to provide age and ability appropriate activities while their children are not accessing the education system.
Embrace East Sussex have pledged to take some of the pressure off by delivering personalised kits to those who need them. Originally designed to support children already registered with the charity, Embrace would now like to open up the scheme to the wider community.
The monthly Embrace homeschool kits are packed with fun and games designed to enhance learning and wellbeing. They include an Embrace book bag, stationary and a range of personalised activities, from fitness to English, maths and science, all selected by our home school co-ordinator, Katy.
If your child is shielding, home schooled or in need of extra support for any reason, and you feel they would benefit from a home school pack, please contact the Embrace team on 01323 404775. Katy will personally ring you to discuss your child’s home schooling requirements and will build a kit especially for your child, based on their interests.
The scheme has so far proved incredibly popular, with parents describing the packs as “a valuable and much appreciate resource” while the children have enjoyed learning through play with new activities added each month.
Poppy, who has been shielding on and off since March, was happy to receive her animal themed home school pack. Inside she found everything she needed to engage in some fun learning from home. She absolutely loves her book bag and cannot wait to see what she will find in her next pack.
